MINDSET OF MPs
Only a few months ago, Helen Clark MP was supporting an argument in the defence of asylum seekers and migrants as not being a problem. I do not recall her going from door to door asking her electorate for their opinions; she just seemed to assume that her opinion was everyone else's. That seems to be the mindset of all MPs.
A good MP is one who continually asks their electorate what they want to happen, then do as their electorate tell them, irrespective of that MP's personal preference or party whip, no matter what pain it gives others. That should be a matter for them and their MPs.
