SOME THOUGHTS ON FOX HUNTING
So then hunting. As I mentioned earlier, hunting is a topic that arises passion in most people. I am very much in favour of hunting continuing. I have started hunting with the Fitzwilliam Hunt this season and have seen fox hunting first hand.
I had always been aware hunting went on, some of my earliest memories are of watching the hunt riding from my bedroom window, it wasn't until 1997 when a ban was first discussed that I started to look closer at the issues. Many people let their knees jerk first off and start mouthing off about cruelty. On looking at the deeper issues I found that there were many reasons for allowing hunting to continue.
1, Foxes are pests
2, Economic benefits of hunting
3, The Unique role the hunt has in the community
4, The support the hunt gives to farmers
5, The support the Pony Club and juniors recieve from the hunt
6, The fact that horses & hounds would no longer have a role to play
7, Hunting is the fairest method of removing a pest, now man has removed all natural predators of the fox.
I urge anyone who has never been to a hunt or meet, to at least see what goes on before making up their mind!

Well by way of introduction, I'm Claire, I'm 21 from Cambridgeshire but currently in my final year at the University of Birmingham.
I have always been interested in current affairs and politics. My mates are a bit sick of me ranting on about various issues so here I am online and ready to let off steam.
I feel very strongly about many issues, in particular the issue of hunting....
I may not agree with your point of view, but I'd fight to the death for your right to say it.
