DRUMS OF MEMORY
Former Joint-Master of the Fitzwilliam Hunt - Sir Stephen Hastings died on 10th January aged 83. He had hthe following to say on the hunting issue in his autobiography the 'Drums of Memory'
"It is not the immemorial traditions of the chase nor the ways of the countryside which should give us cause for concern, but the warped attitudes induced in urban man. Worse still there are those in public life and in considerable authority who know this to be true, but dare not say so lest they appear politically incorrect"
