FITZWILLIAM RAISE CASH
Riders and protesters join up for appeal
RIDERS and protesters at a new year's hunt, who buried their differences to help raise money for the thousands killed in the Boxing Day tsunami in south-east Asia, have collected more that £1,000 for the appeal.
As hundreds of people gathered outside the Haycock Hotel, in Wansford, near Peterborough for the annual New Year's Day hunt, dozens of buckets were passed around.People donated more than £1,000 to help the millions of people affected by the recent disaster, and a minute's silence was held in the village before the hunt began.
George Bowyer, joint master of the Fitzwilliam Hunt, said: "There are some things in life that are more important than hunting."A disaster like this is something that can unite everybody, regardless of their political, cultural or religious differences.
